Must Watch PBS Special on Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas! Excellent in Every Way!

My wife and I watched “Created Equal: Clarence Thomas in his Own Words.” It was a fabulous biography of a young black boy abandoned by his father living in squalor in the Deep South during debilitating racial segregation. It is his story of perseverance, love for the Catholic faith, a rock-solid illiterate grandfather, and a hard-working mother.

He was raised Catholic, later rebelled and became a racist and a Marxist. He later learned about the Constitution of the United States and the unique country he was living in. This whole trajectory is not only fascinating but it led him to law school, to being a Federal judge and finally to the Supreme Court.

The gut-wrenching episode of his confirmation process demonstrated to him the evil of liberalism. To see Biden and Edward Kennedy grilling him was infuriating. But his courage and comeback were the things great movies are made of.

It is a story of perseverance, conversion, tenacity, honesty, integrity and brilliance. Janet and I had the great honor of meeting with him a decade ago and it is still a moment I will not forget.

I sincerely encourage you to live stream it from PBS for the week or so that it is still offered for free. You can watch it here: https://www.pbs.org/show/created-equal-clarence-thomas-his-own-words/  If you check out this website there is a wonderful photo album of his childhood and later life. PLEASE get the family together and watch this exciting and unforgettable story!

God bless Justice Thomas. We need men and women with moral integrity on the Supreme Court. It is very difficult for me to see moral integrity in anyone, or any organization, that supports the killing of thousands of innocent lives every day (abortion) or limits religious liberties forcing their views on others.

Hi Steve: After reading your review of the movie, Maggie and I log into PBS last night and it was just exactly as you described it. Fantastic! I had to share the link with family and friends. Brought me many memories about the USA Government class with Dr. Fiztgerald.
