Just when our group thinks there can’t be a whole lot more to see and do here, we have another action packed day. We start with Mass in the Garden of Gethsemane. This is always one of the most moving times for the pilgrims gathered around the rock where Jesus sweat drops of blood. It’s called hematidrosis in medical lingo. We see olive trees over 2000 years old.

Then to the top of the Mount of Olives, to commemorate the teaching of the Our Father, and the Ascension of Jesus. We do this at the Church of Paternoster. Then back to the Notre Dame Center for cheeseburgers and pizza.

And then to Mount Zion to visit the Upper Room, the source of 4 of the 7 Sacraments. We walk down the hill to Peter in Gallicantu to walk on the Holy Steps, see the cistern prison where Jesus was kept over Holy Thursday and to see where Jesus was tried by the high priest.

Then some free time this afternoon, and a marvelous dinner at the Cheese & Wine Restaurant on the roof of the Notre Dame overlooking the Old City of Jerusalem.
