You’ve made a lot of promises and I think you have the wherewithal to accomplish a lot of it. We’re behind you all the way.
We’re behind you all the way and our prayers are as well. I am thrilled today and for the first time in a long time — I got tears in my eyes at the National Anthem.

Amen!!!! I will continue to pray for him and our nation daily. President Trump started out his second day by going to church, a wonderful sign of what I hope will continue–a recognized dependence on God. May the Holy Spirit guide him, and may God protect him and his family.
I didn’t get to see the inauguration ceremonies yesterday due to work-related obligations, so I had to catch-up last night via Youtube and various news sources. While I admit, Mr. Trump was not my first choice for president during the primaries, I did ultimately vote for him over the unthinkable alternative. But as I watched and listened to our new president take the highest office in the land, and again considered all of the potential harm that our country could have experienced had he not won, I was hit with a new sense of hope for America. Today, as I previewed the readings for this Sunday, I couldn’t help but notice the timely message that Isaiah gives us: “The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; upon those who dwelt in the land of gloom a light has shown.” Now, I don’t mean to suggest that President Trump is that light–of course, we all know that the light about which the prophet wrote was our savior, Christ Jesus. But through the ages, time after time, God has chosen less-than-perfect men through whom He has performed great works. We may now be living in one of those times. If so, it seems that God has given his people another chance to get things right. We, who claim to be followers of the Light, should take this opportunity to shine and share that light with others while we still can.
With fear and a sense that recalls some scenes in the Twilight Zone television series, I reluctantly watched the Trump inauguration. After reviewing all the accomplishments of the Obama years, over 250 of them (despite a Republican stated policy of undermining anything Obama tried to achieve, regardless of its worth) including preventing a world wide great depression, saving the U.S. steel industry, reversing the negative view that the previous Bush years devised and LOTS more I now had to see what a confirmed egotistical, lying con artist will actually do for our world and the U.S.
I will wait to see but I don't have much faith in Trump's ability to carry out his promises to "drain the swamp", something that, even before taking the reins of power, has been proven to be undermined in most of his cabinet choices.
STEVE RAY HERE: Wow! We sure see the world through different eyes! I allowed this post even though I think it is sadly misinformed. Obama did more to destroy this nation and human life and race relations and international relations, etc. than I could have even imagined 4 and 8 years ago. He was a lying snob who thought he was smarter than anyone else in the room. I am glad he is gone.
Ray you certainly show a very Christian character in your review of the Obama years but then I forgot your are a Catholic. Nothing Donald Trump has said and done so far makes me believe he is a born again Christian. We will see though but I would be worried to leave my wife alone in a room with him!
STEVE RAY HERE: A little melodramatic if I may say so. You have fallen for the fake news which tries to make Trump out to be a demon. Really? I never said Trump was a born again Christian nor does that matter to me. Obama was presumed to be so and was an utter disaster.
Here is my way of thinking about it. If I need brain surgery and I have a really lousy born again brain surgeon or an excellent top-notch atheist surgeon, who would I select? I did not vote for Trump because he was or was not born again. I voted for him because he is the only one I though could fix America's mess. On top of that he is already doing "Christian" things in the White house (stopping funding for abortion) that "so-called Christian" presidents did not do.
I like Trump!
And yes, I am Catholic and proud to be so!
To Mr. Obama I say good riddens. What a nightmare the last 8 years have been. On Nov. 9th my prayers were answered! I have not stopped thanking the Lord or smiling since the election! I am praying for the success and safety of the president and his administration.
