This is a first for me! I am high above the Atlantic Ocean at this very minute working on the Internet through a Wi-fi Hotspot on the Lufthansa jetliner. This is incredible! I get to update my blog, answer e-mail and surf my favorite sites. Technology is amazing!

Janet and I have always flown Northwest but this is awfully sweet. I hope NWA catches on to get wi-fi on board.

In seven hours we will land in Frankfurt Germany for a 2-3 hour layover before heading off for Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv. We arrive about 2:30 PM Israel time (7:30 AM EST). I will switch on my Israeli cellphone, and call my friend Samir who will be waiting for us with his bus. An hour later we will be ascending up to Jerusalem.

When we arrive at the Vatican's Notre Dame Center, everyone will be exhilerated but exhausted. We will  have a welcome dinner greet good friends and then everyone can unpack and crash — getting ready for a fast-paced and fun day in Bethlehem and Ein Kerem (where Mary visited Elizabeth).

Psalm 123
“I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord!”
Our feet have been standingwithin your gates, O Jerusalem!
Jerusalem, built as a city which is bound firmly together,
to which the tribes go up, the tribes of the Lord,
as was decreed for Israel, to give thanks to the name of the Lord.

There thrones for judgment were set, the thrones of the house of David.
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem! “May they prosper who love you!

Peace be within your walls, and security within your towers!”
For my brethren and companions’ sake I will say, “Peace be within you!”
For the sake of the house of the Lord our God, I will seek your good.
