John the Baptist ate grasshoppers (Matt 3:4) and it’s likely, if not certain that Elijah and Elisha did too.
When you look at Leviticus 11:22 in the Old Testament you will see that the Israelites were allowed to eat grasshoppers, locusts and crickets. Therefore, it is presumed that they all ate these insects as part of their very limited diet.
In the scenes where I show the correlation between Elijah the Prophet and John the Baptist, I introduced them while flying up a sizzling pan of grasshoppers…
