On Wednesday, April 5 I go under the knife to have both of my knees replaced. Too much running throughout my life and now I pay the price.

The cartilage is gone and my knees are now bone-on-bone. They are not getting any better so I figured it was best to do it now and get it over with. Say a prayer for me and the doctor tomorrow. Thanks.

Steve – I have my right knee done here is a tip rule #1 NEVER kneel on the new knees for 6 months – it takes that long for the remaining bone to grow around those implants. If you kneel on them you will have future problems. Then after that it will be uncomfortable, so use knee pads if you want to kneel in 9 months or later.
Rule #2 during therapy get your knees to flex back as far as possible so you can bend your knee as far back as you did before surgery or they will be locked in a limited range of motion.

STEVE RAY HERE: Deacon Dale, thanks for your good advice and sage information. I have been unable to kneel for 10 years and finally decided to get this done. I am in no hurry to kneel now. I’ll be glad when I can. I’m going to move real slow with daring things, like kneeling, or anything that would put undue stress on those knees. I have been kneeling in my heart for 10 years and the Lord will understand for another year. God bless you and thanks for being a deacon!
