Last night was reminiscent of the gospel story when the disciples got into the boat and Jesus joined them and the waves arose and the winds blew and they were afraid for their lives. They woke Jesus and he calmed the storm. There was no rain or storm last night but the winds were howling and the waves were crashing and it was quite something to see!

Today we are in the north visiting Nazareth first to see the only source of water for the holy family which is a spring located today in the Greek Orthodox Church. Then we visited Stella Maris on Mount Carmel, the headquarters of the Carmelites perched atop the cliff overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.

Then to Mount Muhraka for Mass. This is in the Carmel Mountain mountain range where Elijah called down fire from heaven (1 Kings 18). You can watch the homily here.

Lunch at a Druze restaurant in the Carmel Mountains. Then to the fortified crusader city of Ekko before coming back to Amer‘s house in Nazareth for dinner which his wife prepared for all of us. What a chef and what an amazing feast!!
