Mass at Tomb of St. JP II, Tour of St. Peters, Sistine & More, Walking Tour of Rome

Today was beautiful with blue skies and great temperatures. Great start with Mass at the most coveted altar in Rome — the Tomb of St. John Paul II. We entered the church through our 4th and final Holy Door for the Year of Mercy here in Rome.

After a tour of the Vatican Museum, the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica we took our group picture and had small groups tours of the Scavi, the place of Peter’s grave under the foundations of the church.

After lunch and some free time Janet and I along with Luca took the group on a walking tour of Rome visiting St. Agostino, St. Louis of France, the Pantheon, Santa Maria in Sopra Minerva, and finally to the Piazza Navona for sightseeing and dinner. Enjoy!
