Always nice to start the day with Mass in the Garden of Gethsemane surrounding the very stone where Jesus sweat drops of blood (homily here). Then up the Mount of Olives to the Church of Paternoster where Jesus taught his disciples to pray the Our Father and from where he ascended into heaven. I gave my talk “The Story of Salvation from Adam and Eve until Today” while we looked out over the city of Jerusalem from the Promenade.

We ate at the Ramat Rachel Kibbutz, visited  Upper Room and Church of Dormition where Mary fell asleep. Then the church of Saint Peter in Gallicantu where Peter denied Jesus and where Jesus was lowered into a cistern prison over Holy Thursday night.

A nice free time in the afternoon to rest up and regroup before we went out to a wonderful restaurant for dinner — The Focaccia Bar.

Is that supposed to be “cistern prison?”

Brings back so many great memories! God bless all the pilgrims on this mission. May God give them the chance to come back another time. I have been so blessed, I pray that they are.
