Obama is going to use his pulpit to preach to all the public school kids on Tuesday, Sept 8. From what I understand he will talk to them all through closed circuit television. What will he say to them?

We home schooled our kids and our youngest is now in college, BUT, if I had kids in public school I would definitely keep them home with the Obama flu on Tuesday. I hope a LOT of family’s get the Obama flu on Tuesday.

I’m going to disagree with you on this one, Steve. I find Mr. Obama’s rule odious but here is what’s going to happen (mark my words): He’s going to come on and give a very positive, encouraging, non-political, talk to the students. He’s going to hold himself out as a disadvantaged, mixed race, fatherless kid who made it because he stayed in school, so work hard and stay in school.

It will be a non-event. Afterwords Comrade Propaganda Minister Rahm Emmanuel will say: “Look – the conservatives were wrong on this and, as always, they’re wrong on everything else the Comrade Chairman Messiah has offered up.”

I guarantee you, will you bet me a free guided trip to the Holy Land?

I think Pete is correct that the speech won’t be what it was going to be initially (thanks to the conservatives). They have already said that some of it would be changed since people were complaining. My beef is that we don’t get to see the speech and there is no rebuttal. Would anyone want to send their kid to church where the priest has been caught on occasion to lie, supported abortion, but still called himself Catholic? I have enough difficulty deprogramming my loved ones that voted for this idiot to begin with. Now I have to worry about my kids..

I am going to add my voice to those who disagree. It is ODIOUS to judge what a man is going to say before he even says it. This is the kind of bigotry that we, as Catholics, have to put up with from some Protestants. I think therefore, even though we know that President Obama is a liberal and that some of his ideas are in violent disagreement with our Truth (such as his over the top support for abortion), it is nonetheless wrong of us to judge the man before he even opens his mouth. I think we should let him speak and then see what he says in the body of the speech. Then we will have something for which we can complain or praise him.

STEVE RAY HERE: I HAVE TO CHUCKLE AT THIS. YOU DON’T HAVE TO WAIT TO HEAR OBAMA TO KNOW WHAT HE IS GOING TO SAY! HE IS OBAMA AFTERALL! HE HAS ALREADY OPENED HIS MOUTH ENOUGH TO KNOW WHAT IS GOING TO COME OUT EVERY TIME HE OPENS IT. IF HE HAD NEVER SPOKEN — OK — BUT HE HAS! AND I’VE JUDGED HIM!

Yes, of course it will be a non-event. That’s exactly how the Obama administration wants it. They are priming all of us to let our guard down when it comes to the President. Don’t think for a moment that there isn’t any cunning involved here. Obama wants to make a harmless appearance to our children so that he can get the children to attach emotionally to him. It’s a simple plan of trying to get the wolf in the door. Parents be warned.
A friend of mine pointed out something very true and unfortunate: Obama is trying to gain acceptance among our children when he has yet to be accepted among the parents.

  5. Pete

He has been accepted by most of the parents. Wait and see, it will be just what I said. Designed to take a whack at those who criticize him by showing his gentle, tender, thoughtful, caring, concerened side.

His “Green Jobs” Czar, another lost boy in tall weeds, resigned because his mouth was too big and he publicly expressed what Obama and the lads really think. He’s got to shore up the dike. He’ll be good as gold.

Children belong to the parents, not to the State. Parents have a right to review and challenge the curriculim that is being offered to their school-age children. It is precisely because Obama’s speech to their children is NOT public that worries some parents, many of whom believe, right or wrong, that Obama has shown himself to have a Socialist agenda and not above using methods of manipulating public opinion to promote that agenda. We are talking about kids as young as K thru 6. Imagine the wailing and gnashing of teeth if the schools had mandated 6 year olds to watch a speech by George Bush about staying in school and then made the kids write and talk about it and how they could support Bush afterwards. The problem is not with the message, but who is delivering it and the feeling of mistrust in that individual or that he is engaging in subtle indoctrination of kids.
Saying to parents “Wait to see what he has to say, then react” is ludicrous. That’s like saying “this looks like it may be poison, but just give it to your kids, then we’ll react.” Once the damage is done, it’s done.
Bottom line: Whether the parents are right or wrong about the President, they are their kids, not his. 🙂

“It is ODIOUS to judge what a man is going to say before he even says it.”

No more odious than to require a population, under penalty of law, to sit quietly and absorb a speech. If we are to have compulsory education, we have to take pains to insure it is not mere indoctrination.

I for one, don’t believe it will be so positive. I feel that it is a well thought of speech with hidden motives or hidden messages ( mind control ) for our childen.
I’ll just do what that exorcist priest in Kansas said,—–“don’t look at him and don’t listen to him “——- Obama that is —-I think our childen are better off staying home that day. There’s something very evil about Obama

    SOCIALISM WARNING!!!! HE’S A SOCIALIST!!!!!

Just LOOK at what’s in his speech!!!

You’ll need the knowledge and problem-solving skills you learn in science and math to cure diseases like cancer and AIDS, and to develop new energy technologies and protect our environment. You’ll need the insights and critical thinking skills you gain in history and social studies to fight poverty and homelessness, crime and discrimination, and make our nation more fair and more free. You’ll need the creativity and ingenuity you develop in all your classes to build new companies that will create new jobs and boost our economy.

See that? That’s Socialist lingo!! Why, how dare he suggest that our children grow up with such ideas!!!???

  10. Steve Ray

STEVE RAY HERE: FIRST, I THINK THE SPEECH WAS CHANGED AFTER THE UPROAR. SECOND, IT IS **HOW** HE INTENDS TO DO THOSE THINGS. THIRD, I DON’T LIKE THE MAN OR HIS WORLD VIEW AND POLICIES, HIS LIES AND HIS DECEPTION — AND NO MATTER WHAT HE HAS TO SAY I DON’T WANT HIM TALKING TO MY KIDS. AND YES, HE IS A SOCIALIST OR EVEN WORSE AND PEOPLE SHOULD TAKE WARNING IF THEY HAVEN’T ALREADY.

FINALLY, I THINK SOME OF THIS RESISTANCE TO HIS TALKING TO THE KIDS, HAS TO DO WITH HIS INCREDIBLY BAD TIMING. RIGHT WHEN WE KNOW HE IS DOING EVERYTHING FROM LYING AND CAJOLING AND ARM-TWISTING TO GET HIS SOCIALIST “HEALTH-DEATH BILL” PASSED. IT IS VERY BAD TIMING BUT FOR HIM IT IS ESSENTIAL TIMING.

HE NOW, ALL OF A SUDDEN WANTS TO TALK TO OUR KIDS EN-MASS? SURE IT IS BECAUSE SCHOOL HAS JUST STARTED, BUT DOES ANYONE BELIEVE THAT IS THE REAL REASON? IT IS ONE MORE ATTEMPT TO PROVE TO AMERICA THAT HE IS JUST A BIG LOVABLE MESSIAH WHO IS HERE TO TAKE CARE OF US ALL. EVEN IN HIS SPEECH HE IS THE BENEFACTOR FOR THE KIDS “DOING EVERYTHING HE CAN TO GET THEM BOOKS, ETC” AS THOUGH HE IS THE GREAT BENEVOLENT FATHER OF US ALL. IT JUST PROVES THAT MANY OF US DON’T TRUST HIM BECAUSE WE HAVE COME TO KNOW HIM.

  11. bill912

“…as though he is the great benevolent father of us all.”

Nah! He doesn’t want to be our father, just our Big Brother.

  12. Barbara

Even if Obama says mundane things like ‘stay in school’, ‘work hard’, etc. The leftist teachers union has put together lesson plans that reflect what Obama already wants them to say. Even though they supposedly toned down the rhetoric, the individual teachers can still insert whatever they want into individual class plans!
