Another Episcopalian bishop joins Roman Church

New Orleans, Sep. 24, 2007 (www.CWNews.com) – An Episcopalian bishop in Texas plans to enter the Roman Catholic Church, becoming the third Episcopalian bishop to take that step this year.

Bishop Jeffrey Steenson of Rio Grande told a conference of Episcopalian bishops, meeting in New Orleans, that he was "deeply troubled" by the turmoil within the Episcopal communion. The New Orleans session has been an unusually tense meeting of the House of Bishops, due to sharp disagreements over homosexuality and the authority of the Christian moral tradition.

Bishop Steenson asked permission to resign his post, saying that he was hoping to bow out gracefully.
