Fiesta of St. James! Celebrating his Feast Day at his Bones in Santiago (which means "St. James"); Walking the El Camino

What a mass of people! The Spanish people know how to celebrate and coming to Santiago de Compostela on the feast day of their primary saint, St. James the Greater, is quite an experience! By the way, this is the St. James who was called by Jesus on the shores of Galilee.

We started with Mass in a small chapel and Monsignor Droll ascended the high pulpit and sang part of his homily! Brilliant! He sang a summary of the life of St. James. We arrived at the Cathedral in Santiago to join the mayhem 🙂

You see in the video all the dancing and the music — a great time was had by all. We had some great seafood, venerated the bones of St. James, and many of us hiked the last 3 to 5 miles of the El Camino.

Enjoy the fun adventure!
