Was Jesus REALLY in the Tomb
3 Days & 3 Nights?
Skeptics claim to have discovered an error in the New Testament —claiming Jesus was not in the tomb for three full 24-hour periods like he prophesied. He was buried Friday afternoon and rose early Sunday morning.being only one full day and two nights. Has the sceptic found an error in the Bible? How does one respond?

ROFL, I asked my parish priest about that when I was 8 . . . you telling me these so-called grown-ups didn’t notice until now?!
This is pretty simple. The ancient Jews counted any part of a day as one entire day. So the end of Friday is day one, the entire day of Saturday is day two and a partial day of Sunday is day three.
Don’t these skeptics even look into history before they make such a silly argument?
Jewish festivals are significant to death of Jesus. Jesus being our Passover Lamb (Exodus 12:21, John 1:29,36) died on Passover (Luke 22:1) which is the Preparation of the Sabbath which is not the Weekly Sabbath but first day of Unleavened Bread Sabbath (Leviticus 23:6-7)! This is why John calls it a “high day” (John 19:31)
This occurred on a Wednesday (Passover, Preparation of the Unleavened Bread Sabbath) followed by a Unleavened Bread Sabbath on Thursday which is the high day, then the Preparation of the Weekly Sabbath followed by the Weekly Sabbath on Saturday on which Jesus rose! Here is the sequence of events:
* Jesus being the Passover sacrifice kept the Passover the evening before (Matthew 26:26, Mark 14:17, Luke 22:15, John 13:1) which is still the same day as the day begins after sunset (Leviticus 23:32, Nehemiah 13:19)
* Jesus prayed in Garden of Gethsemane. It was late for this reason the disciples where sleeping, hence Jesus said “the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak” (Matthew 26:36-46, Mark 14:32-42, Luke 22:39-46, John 18:1)
* Jesus betrayed by Judas and arrested (Matthew 26:46-50, Mark 14:42-45, Luke 22:47-48, John 18:2)
* Jesus taken to Caiaphas the high priest (Matthew 26:57, Mark 14:53, Luke 22:52, John 18:13)
* Peter denies Jesus 3 times before morning (Matthew 26:75, Mark 14:66-72, Luke 22:54-61, John 18:15-27)
* Jesus delivered to Pontius Pilate in the morning (Matthew 27:2, Mark 15:1, Luke 23:1, John 18:28)
* Jesus crucified at 9AM. The day begins at 6AM and ends at 6PM, see Matthew 20:1-9, so the at the 3rd hour represents 9AM (Mark 15:25)
* Darkness came over the land at midday till he died (Matthew 27:45, Mark 15:33, Luke 23:44,)
* Jesus dies at 3PM (Matthew 27:46)
* His body laid in the tomb the same evening before the Sabbath as it was still the preparation day (Matthew 27:57-59, Mark 15:42-44, Luke 23:50-54, John 19:38-42)
* The next day the Pharisees asked Pilate to post guards at his tomb for 3 days (Matthew 27:62-66)
* After the Sabbath (1st day of Unleavened Bread) the women bought spices for Jesus (Mark 16:1, Luke 23:56)
* The weekly Sabbath came and they rested according to the commandment (Luke 23:56)
* After the Weekly Sabbath, at the dawn (early morning before daylight when it was still dark) of the first day of the week (Sunday), some of the women came to the tomb but it was empty “for he is risen” (Matthew 28:1-6, Mark 16:2, Luke 24:1-4, John 20:1-2)
Also the significance of the 9AM and 3PM times is to line up with the morning and evening sacrifices (Exodus 29:39).
Study the Jewish Festivals and you will understand they all point to Christ, then you will understand the events that took place. Also the other festivals mentioned in Leviticus 23 point to other significant events such as
*Feast of Weeks ==> Pentecost
*Feast of Trumpets ==> Christ Return
*Day of Atonement ==> Satan Removed & Reconciliation to God
*Feast of Tabernacles ==> Jesus 1000 rule on earth of the Kingdom of God
* Eighth Day ==> The new heaven and earth
