Pakistani Christian, facing blasphemy charge, killed in prison

A Pakistani Christian man who was arrested on blasphemy charges was found dead in prison on September 15, apparently having been tortured. His death was denounced by a human-rights group as an example of “judicial murder.” After the young man was arrested and charged with desecrating the Qu’ran, Muslim activists in his Punjab village attacked Christian homes and set fire to a local church.

From the end of WWII to the fall of the Shah of Iran the West and the Islamic countries were able to co-exist even if there were hot points and conflicts. After the radicalization of Islam and the imposition of the Sharia Law in Iran and Afghanistan things have gone from bad to worse. I think that as nations goes it is possible to go back to co-existence if better and cooler heads prevail.
But as to the co-existence between Islam and Christianity in one place, that is doubtful. Both Islam and Christianity claim absolute truths that are incompatible with each other. Either one believes that Mohamed is the Prophet and that Jesus was only a lesser one or one accepts Jesus as the Lord of the Universe and Mohamed claims are false.
In addition Islam is not “a religion of peace”. The Koran and the tradition of Islam are violent and intolerant of any other religion. Sometimes the infidels are tolerated when convenient but are forbidden from preaching, proselytizing or having a public expression of their faith. Even with its own followers Islam can be brutal. Islam’s brutal ways is what stamped out Christianity from its cradle in the Middle East.
For the Muslim to kill or die killing in the name of his religion is a divine mandate. For the Christian to die as a martyr while loving and forgiving his enemies is the way to water the seed of the faith.
