everal months ago we recommended a film called The Ninth Day in which a Catholic priest is released from Dachua for nine days. Now I would recommend a movie in a similar vein called Sophie Scholl: the Final Days. It is a true story; at least it is a dramatization of the final days of Sophie Scholl.

Again placed in Nazi Germany, this young woman and her brother resist and pay the price. It is one of those hard to watch movies but one that reminds you of the preciousness of freedom and the high price many have paid to purchase it. This is a movie that makes you want to stand up and be counted, even to die a martyr for what is right, beautiful and just.
