He will be buried under St. Peters Basilica near the bones of St. Peter. He will probably be placed in the vacated tomb of Pope John XXIII who was moved up into the main church area. My guess is that the next pope will eventually bring the tomb of John Paul II up to a prominent place within the main church — just as John Paul II did for John XXIII.
