"Exactly what superior wisdom entitles secularists to monopolize public life?"

As Catholics, or even as free people living in the West, we have enemies that will try to destroy our freedoms, especially the liberty to practice our Catholic faith. If not opposed this enemy will make it dangerous if not impossible for our kids to live the Catholic life. They will have an intolerant and godless view of the world stuffed down their throats.

Pope Benedict XVI has spoken repeatedly of the tyranny of relativism. Right before his election as pope Ratzinger wrote: "We are moving towards a dictatorship of relativism, whid does not recognize anything as definitive and has as it highest value one's own ego and one's own desires."

Has the secularist discovered some truth that has given them superiority over objective truth and which allows them to banish religion and theology from the public square? No, not at all. The opposite is true. They actually stand in the public square with their pants down but too few are willing to see it and cry out against it.

There is a great editorial in the Catholic World Report Magazine (March 2007) written by George Neumayr. It is very insightful and pointed. It should be read by all Catholics so we can understand a main enemy we need to fight. You can't resist — and teach your kids to protect themselves and fight — if we don't see the enemy and his tactics clearly in our lens.
