Unusually early morning so as to be the first bus to the taxi stand since the taxis need to drive us up the hair-pin turns to the top of Mount Tabor – the Mountain of the Transfiguration. We had an 8 AM Mass in the Basilica at the top peak of the mountain (homily here). After the Mass we discussed the biblical history of the mountain and what it all means.
Next to Cana of Galilee where we renewed our wedding vows and then headed for lunch in Nazareth before visiting the Church of the Annunciation where Mary was approached by the angel with the message of Jesus’ birth.
A few hours of free time in the afternoon to enjoy the Sea of Galilee and to relax a bit before going out to one of the nicest restaurants in Israel, called the Magdalena, for a magnificent meal.
