So it was within those Sunday school classes, that I began to feel the stirrings of the Spirit again but still did not recognize it for what it was. I actually found myself defending various misconceptions with regards to the Catholic faith when someone in class would erroneously make a comment that I knew to be wrong.
Usually the biggest topic of misconception was what they perceived to be worship of Mary. I remember my husband quoting a Methodist minister friend of his saying “Catholics revere Mary too much and Protestants do not revere her enough”. Now that I am Catholic, I do not think we revere her too much but it is difficult to explain to those of other faiths.

Is there a difference (at least in the present times) between Methodist and Catholic? I was informed that Catholic priests are allowed to celebrate mass in a Methodist Church, likewise Methodist pastors are allowed to preach in Catholic churches.
If you read my whole story, you will see where I do explain the differences and having been Methodist for 42 years I never saw a priest in the Methodist church celebrating Mass. You probably need to read about the Catholic Mass to understand why. The main reason being the belief in the Eucharist being changed into the Body and Blood of Christ. Protestants do not believe in this. Protestant preachers have on occasion been asked to preach or teach in a Catholic church but not during a Mass and it is usually tied in with an ecumenical type of meeting and gathering of various faith denominations.
When my Catholic parish, St. Veronica in Chantilly/Herndon, Virginia, started in 1999, we had no church. Two different Methodist churches and an Episcopal church let celebrate Mass at their facilities without charge. After several years, we finally built our church.
