Hans Küng says Obama would make a better Pope

The dissident theologian Hans Küng has suggested that Barack Obama would be a better pope than Benedict XVI. “The mood in the church is oppressive,” Küng told a German outlet.  “Benedict is unteachable in matters of birth control and abortion, arrogant and without transparency and restrictive of freedom and human rights.” The theologian who once argued for greater democracy in the Church suggested that the Pope should follow Obama’s example and issue executive orders to bring about radical changes in Church doctrine and discipline, “using the power of his executive office to issue decrees.”

May God have mercy on his sick soul!

Being so intelligent and gifted, this man is laughable. I know it’s not polite, but I can think of no other advice to give Mr. Kung than. . .

    just shut up!

    God bless,

Hello, Steve, I’ve been reading American apologetics for some time. Be sure that people like you, Dave Armstrong, Scott Hahn, Mark Shea and Jimmy Akin are very special for me. Keep on being like that, please. I love things you’ve done and I’ve surely learned a lot from you, American Catholics. America is a wonderful country in my opinion. God bless you and your country, Bye.

Post scriptum: I guess your Portuguese isn’t that awful!!! Tchau = (Ciao, Au revoir, Bye, Auf Wiedersehen, Hasta más), Dimas

The worst enemies the Church has are not those who persecute Her from outside the walls. We know who they are, we know what they want (us dead — either spiritually or physically if possible), and the Church destroyed.

The worst enemies are those inside the walls who keep pretending to be Catholics. They so easily lead astray the weak of mind, the untrained, the unitelligent, and those looking for any excuse to rebel against authority. Who knows how many souls Kung will be responsible for sending to hell with his theological nonsense?

God have mercy on his soul? I wish God to have mercy on the souls of the innocent this man would corrupt and STRIKE HIM DEAD!!! I’m sorry if that sounds mean spirited, but I am about fed up with the constant barrage of “love” for those whose actions make it quite clear they have not only declared war on God under the guise of false piety, but who are damning others with them. Perhaps I need more of the grace of God to lead me to a better understanding of God’s love for such evil rebels, but whenever I read of such men, I am reminded of St. Nicholas’ response to the heretic Arias — a good swift smack right in the chops!!

    Hi Brother Ed:
Your attitude isn’t recognizable as Christ-like.
Regarding St. Nicholas, St. Nicholas would roll over in his grave for you reciting the Nicene Creed with the heretical filioque in it, which was added without an ecumenical council.
Were St, Nicholas and the other 300+ bishops at Nicea not illumined? Let all of the 7 Ecumenical Councils speak for themselves in their entirety.
Peace be with you, and be still.
