UPDATE: Due to the huge rebellion of pro-life Americans and many pro-life congressmen, the abortion provision was overridden in the bill — but I suspect the Democrats will eventually get it if we let down our guard.

… as part of the Health Care bill tomorrow. What utter disregard for the majority of people who absolutely oppose abortion as being a “medical remedy” as though pregnancy is some kind of disease. I fear for our country.
I have two idiots for senators in my state of Michigan (Stabenow and Levin) ; and an calloused old fool for a congressman (Dingell, who IS as his name sounds). It is a waste of time for me to write and cajole them since they are blind and deaf #$%&@ socialists. But many of you have senators and members of Congress who still have a conscience and a shred of sanity. Do what you can!

With the US House of Representatives scheduled to vote on November 7 on a proposed health-care reform bill, Speaker Nancy Pelosi is struggling to rally support for the legislation, with informed observers on Capitol Hill predicting an extremely tight vote. If the bill is approved by the House, it will still face a lengthy debate in the Senate, with a final vote there unlikely to take place before the end of the calendar year.
Democrats ignore pro-life concerns on health care, bishop charges

Writing for First Things, Bishop James Conley, a Denver auxiliary, charges that Democratic Party leaders have made no effort to accommodate the concerns of pro-lifers in the debate on health-care reform. “’Common ground’” thinking in Washington apparently has more reality as public relations than as public policy,” he charges.
“With the exception of a few leaders, like Democratic Congressman Bart Stupak, Congress has ignored or rejected every attempt at resolving the serious concerns voiced by the bishops—or alternately, has pushed solutions like the Capps Amendment that do not solve the problems, and even create new ones. The White House has done nothing to intervene.”
