Going through boxes of family history and things I have written – I discovered this article I wrote about the canon of Scripture. I wrote it two years after becoming Catholic, around the same time I wrote Crossing the Tiber. I thought folks might find it interesting and helpful. Enjoy!

This Post Has One Comment
Premise one:”all Scripture is inspired by God…” (2 Timothy 3)
Premise two: The Septuagint is Scripture (evident from the fact that 2/3 of NT quotes are from the Septuagint version)
Conclusion: all of the Septuagint is Scripture. This includes the 7 disputed books.
Am I oversimplifying the issue?
STEVE RAY HERE: maybe over simplifying a little bit, but it certainly follows through. St. Paul mainly use the Septuagint, and it contain those books. So, it makes sense to me, although it might not convince some people.
