Sisters of Mercy among sponsors of Obama talk-radio call on healthcare reform

“In an effort to increase support for congressional healthcare legislation amid growing public skepticism, the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas and three other Catholic groups have joined over 30 religious organizations in sponsoring an August 19 BlogTalkRadio appearance by President Barack Obama. The show begins at 5:00.”
These Sisters are NOT to be confused with the Missionaries of Charity (Mother Teresa’s sisters). Groups like this — I suspect — are the reason the Pope is investigating many of the women religious in America. I do not know for sure, but I have a hunch — and stand ready to be corrected.
This was posted on The Sisters of Mercy of the Americas website after Obama was elected:
“The campaigning is over and we have cast our votes [presumably for Obama].  Now it is time to turn our efforts to keeping our elected officials informed about poverty, immigration, Earth, women’s equality, racism, and nonviolence – the Critical Concerns of the Sisters of Mercy.”
Why not a concern for abortion, sanctity of marriage, opposition to the gay agenda or other matters central to the Culture of Life. “Earth” is more important than the unborn? I have not had much time to investigate them, but reading portions of their website and seeing their enthusiastic support for Obama and his liberal agenda sent  my antennas up!
