Today is the big transition from a Galilee to Jerusalem. We only move once during our pilgrimages for the convenience of the people. This morning was all about the Sea of Galilee where we had Mass at Capernaum where Jesus said “Eat My Flesh, Drink My Blood.” The readings were from John chapter 6 – and the synagogue where Jesus spoke these words was right out the window (exceptional homily here). Amazing!

We then visited the 2000 year old boat before getting on a real boat and going sailing on the sea where I give my talk about spending the night out with Jewish fisherman a few years ago. We eat St. Peters Fish and then drive to Jerusalem but we stop first at the Church of Visitation where I give my talk about Mary “the Ark of the New Covenant.“ We end up for dinner and overnight at the Notre Dame hotel in Jerusalem.

Oh, how I remember this from our pilgrimage with Steve and Janet in September. We thought we would visit the Holy Land only once, but since we have been there, we cannot wait to return. And it will only be with Steve and Janet. Enjoy the rest of your journey.
