I don’t know what that is.” So, as when Martin misconstrued the significance of his book having an “Imprimi protest”, I pause to untangle these concepts for those who would like to understand and apply them more accurately.
First, there is no Church law or teaching that lesbian, gay, bisexual, and/or transgender people “must be celibate their entire lives”. None.

I wrote to you once before about Michael Voris and Church Militant. This is where many are starting to look at his/their work because they are right on with information about the scandal.

Joan , I agree. Michael Voris has been reporting on this crisis in our church for a long time. He get a bad rap for being honest and straight forward, some times harsh but I see that this is what we need in our church. No more watered down teaching.
I am confused. Steve, are you saying James Martin is a heretic or the comments from the Canon Lawyer are heresy? If gay, transgender, etc., do not marry a person of the opposite sex, then they, like any other single person, are to lead lives of chastity as sex out of marriage is a mortal sin. Maybe Canon Law doesn't come right out and state that specifically, but it is implied because they are required to abstain from sex in their single status.

Please don’t be confused about my position. I believe the LGBT is totally absurd and practicing such is a sin. I think any priest that advocates it should be defrocked. I hope you now understand my position 🙂
James Martin is not a priest. He is a clown with a collar.
I do not know what is going on in the western world. This LGBT thing is so big an issue over there. Where I come from, we do have stray incidents of such kind but the issue has rarely crept within the domain of the church. This holds true for the the Presbyterian and Baptist Churches as well, who collectively constitute roughly around 70 % of our state’s population of about one million. We have never heard of the so called Gay movements or sexual abuse of kids by ministers. With information being passed on almost instantly, such disturbing information from the west is troubling the minds of simple, devoted folks around here. And by the way, I am from Mizoram state, one of the smallest state in India.
What I meant in my previous post is that Fr. Martin is advocating for sex for the LBGT community because they will not marry in the traditional man/woman way. Of course, this is totally unacceptable for anyone, let alone a priest to be advocating. What I was also saying is that although not spelled out in Canon Law for them, any single state is one of chastity vs. being in Mortal Sin if you aren’t being a chaste single. Since my comments seem to “be in moderation” lately for hours/days after I post them, or I get a message after typing and trying to send one that “your comments seem a bit spammy, try again”, I won’t be posting again.
I love your comment, Steve! We here in Atlanta just had Fr. Martin come and spread his muddy theology in two of our parishes.
These men who constantly strive to change the Church’s teachings make me think one thing: We have MANY different churches who would welcome your theology! Go and become an Episcopalian or a Unitarian. What makes the Catholic Church unique is the insistence on the eternal ADHERENCE to what Christ and the Apostles taught. It’s not malleable, it is eternal. Many prelates have gone down this road, which is why we have more than 30,000 Christian denominations — go pick one!
