“In the most recent issue of Dabiq, the propaganda magazine of the Islamic State, ISIS criticizes Pope Francis for his naïveté in clinging to the conviction that Muslims want peace and that acts of Islamic terror are economically motivated.
“This is a divinely-warranted war between the Muslim nation and the nations of disbelief,” the authors state in an article titled “By the Sword.”
The Islamic State directly attacks Francis for claiming that “authentic Islam and the proper reading of the Quran are opposed to every form of violence,” saying that by doing this, “Francis continues to hide behind a deceptive veil of ‘good will,’ covering his actual intentions of pacifying the Muslim nation.”

Pope Francis “has struggled against reality” in his efforts to portray Islam as a religion of peace, the article insists, before going on to urge all Muslims to take up the sword of jihad, the “greatest obligation” of a true Muslim.

Despite the obviously religious nature of their attacks, the article states, “many people in Crusader countries express shock and even disgust that Islamic State leadership ‘uses religion to justify violence.’”
“Indeed, waging jihad – spreading the rule of Allah by the sword – is an obligation found in the Quran, the word of our Lord,” it reads.
“The blood of the disbelievers is obligatory to spill by default. The command is clear. Kill the disbelievers, as Allah said, ‘Then kill the polytheists wherever you find them.’”

Never thought I would agree with a Baptist more than the Pope, but on this issue I do

The idea that Islam and the Koran are opposed to violence does not correspond to the history of Islam. For centuries, Islam was spread by the sword.

Amen and even today. Still think that the Pope needs to walk a very thin Christian line. He has no choice.

“One Can Only Defeat Radical Ideologies with Moderate Ideologies.”
While NATO forces will ultimately destroy the leadership and operational bases of ISIS /Taliban, we must accept that: “One Can Only Defeat Radical Ideologies with Moderate Ideologies.”
Consequences: Science, Philosophy & the Christian-Islam Ideological Crisis, recently published and written by Robert & Miriam Fertig, explains the conflict that has arisen between Radical Islam and Christian thinking that has resulted in an ideological crisis and a global war.
What the authors propose is a “Reform Movement” by respected Islamic scholars, be immediately established worldwide, by the next President, for creating more accurate and compassionate interpretations of Islamic guiding principles, especially Muhammed’s traditions, in at least four areas: Human Rights, Jihad, Women in Society, and Sharia laws.
The “Golden Rule” is included in Christianity (Matt. 7:12), but also in all other major religions, except Islam. In Judaism, “What is hateful to you, do not do to your neighbor”; in Hinduism, “Let no man do to another that which would be repugnant to himself”’; in Buddhism, “[Do not] hurt other[s] in ways that you yourself would find hurtful.” These are Universal Principles!
In the Islamic world, the opposite of the Golden Rule exists: “Muhammed is the messenger of Allah. Be merciful to one another, but ruthless to the unbelievers” (Qur’an 48:29); “Never take unbelievers for friends” (3:28). Likewise, the commands in the Qur’an to slay the unbelievers wherever they find them (2:191), not befriend them (3:28), fight them and show them harshness (9:123), and smite their heads (47:4) – highlight detachment from the Golden Rule.
The Saudi Wahhabi version of Islam is contrary to the Golden Rule. Madrassas schools is where youth are taught the reverse of some of the Ten Commandments, which have to do with morality. For example: 4th Commandment, Honoring Father and Mother: Al-Azhar University, the most respected authority in Sunni Islam states that retaliation is generally required for murder, but not subject to retaliation is “a father or mother for killing their offspring ….” Honor killings can go in the other direction, too. Boys captured by ISIS report that they were ordered to kill their parents, according to injunctions in the Qur’an – 9:23, 58:22, 60:4, which mandates hatred of, and disassociation from unbelievers, even if they are kindred or parents.
The vast majority of moderate Muslims, who want to immigrate to America, must agree to accept our Constitution, especially the Bill of Rights, which is contrary to Sharia laws.
Readers who want to more fully understand Islam, specifically in direct comparison to Christianity, should read “CONSEQUENCES by Fertig,” which is available from Amazon.

STEVE RAY HERE: Thanks for your thoughful comments. I would just disagree that with the anti-rational aspect of Islam and the application of jihad and the Koran for 1400 years, the hope of changing Muslim’s minds and the example of their leader will not work. And I would have sympathy for the “moderate Muslims” if they stood up and condemned the jihad, but they don’t. They do not assimilate into Western society because Islam is as much political as it is religious. Islam has the mandate and the will to conquer.
