Sao Paulo, May. 26, 2008 (CWNews.com) – More than 3.5 million people participated in the 12th Gay Pride parade in Sao Paulo, Brazil, according to police estimates.

Of those taking part in the march down the city's Avenida Paulista, about 300,000 were believed to be foreigners who travelled to Brazil for the festival. Tourism minister Marta Suplicy, the former mayor of Sao Paulo, said that the visiting homosexual activists enriched Brazil's economy, spending about $115 million during their stay. "This is the diversity that this country wants," the former mayor said.

The massive gay-pride demonstration dwarfed the crowd that had attended last year's meeting in Sao Paulo with Pope Benedict XVI (bio – news); about 1 million people were at that event.

Can you imagine something like this even 20 years ago? My grandkids will raise their kids in a very different and scary world. I just did the study on Genesis 18 where the Lord came down to visit Abraham and then to travel to Sodom to see if it was really as bad as the reports that had reached him. A few days later Sodom and Gomorrah were a smoking bed of cinder and ashes. May the Lord have mercy; I'd be afraid to pray for justice.
