JERUSALEM — High on Mount Sinai, Moses was on psychedelic drugs when he heard God deliver the Ten Commandments, an Israeli researcher claimed in a study published this week. [So THAT"S what the Bible means when it says Moses was HIGH on Mount Sinai! Wow! I learn something new every day!]
Such mind-altering substances formed an integral part of the religious rites of Israelites in biblical times [something I must have missed in my reading of the Penteteuch. Hum, I better go back and read it again], Benny Shanon, a professor of cognitive psychology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem wrote in the Time and Mind journal of philosophy.

Moses was probably also on drugs when he saw the "burning bush," suggested Shanon, who said he himself has dabbled with such substances [sounds like the author was more than dabbling while interviewing for this article!]…
…He mentioned his own experience when he used ayahuasca, a powerful psychotropic plant, during a religious ceremony in Brazil's Amazon forest in 1991. "I experienced visions that had spiritual-religious connotations," Shanon said. [This is certainly proof enough for me! Pass the ayahuasca! Let's have a smoke with Moses!] ….
Holy Smokes 🙂 (pun intented) Now I have to go and re-do my whole Footprints of God DVD on "Moses: Signs, Sacraments & Salvation." Next I'll find out that Paul really didn't have a vision of Jesus on the road to Damascus — he just shot up too much heroin that morning. Then I'll have to re-do that DVD too!
