In other words, I am personally against slavery, but I think people (or the states) should have the freedom to choose.

Amazing what happens when we do not see a person as human being.
It’s all about definition. If you control the “definitions” of things, you have incredible power. Evil is smart. It has learned this method well – to wit, witness how the following definitions have been usurped: choice, tolerance, life, marriage, bigotry, hate, inclusion, love, human, religiosity, free speech, gender, etc. We can find consolation in the words of St. Maximilion Kolbe, “Nothing in the world can change truth.” The waiting and the fighting for the truth to out is our cross.
The lack of knowledge of our own history as Americans, is appalling today. If we don’t know our history, we are bound to repeat errors we made, or those errors made against us. People need to know, too, the history of the sacrifices that were made to bring this country into existence — the many who died to set us free. If you don’t know that, you don’t honor our precious freedom and are susceptible to socialistic, Marxist philosophies. If you take those at face value and don’t study their historical impact in the world, then you don’t know how they have FAILED over and over again. Sorry, I guess I’m on my soap box!
