MICHAEL CONTI SAYS in the FACEBOOK group “Roman Catholicism is Apostate”: “I remember the first time after I got out of prison and went to a Calvary Chapel in North-East Philly, the Pastor was telling us that over 50% of the congregation were ex-Catholics…and this Calvary Chapel had over 12,000 members.”
LENNY ALT SAYS: Now it appears that numbers of people attending Evangelical churches are going down at the rate of one million a year. For many years I have heard Evangelicals say they USED TO BE CATHOLICS and they would boast at how many ex-Catholics were in their congregations. Now it appears there is a change. In fact a close friend of mind refers to herself as a “USED TO BE PROTESTANT.” 82% of Evangelical churches are not growing but, in fact, are declining. I asked Michael Conti if his church was still growing last year and I was told his church was declining – but numbers don’t mean everything. Evidently there will be more ex-Evangelicals in the world.
(Many of those dropping out of Evangelical churches are discovering the Catholic Church – ancient, yet forever young!)

Evangelicals are dropping off by the numbers because they are fulfilling the Scripture,that there would be a great falling away. Many are too interested in entertainment. We have our traditional serious abiding walk with God that requires faith, trusting and most of all obedience. Many Christians outside of the US and England who are not RC or Orthodox, are stronger, more committed, and will die for their faith, we have many martyrs in all third world countries, also in: China,N.Korea, Viet Nam,Cuba, North Africa, Nigeria,South America, and other countries like Mauritania, and Mozambique. Also our numbers faced severe persecution in the former Soviet Bloc Nations of Eastern Europe.
“Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:11.
You cannot judge the progress of the Evangelical churches by just what is happening in the US and Canada, or England.
i think the evangelical numbers are falling for a number of reasons: 1) The secularization of the West means that fewer people are interested in religion (both Catholic and Protestant), 2) point 1 also means that there are fewer disillusioned Catholics for the evangelicals to reach out to, and 3) I think there has been an improvement in the number of Catholics who actually know the church and why they should be practicing Catholics. Therefore there are less people who leave for the wrong reasons,
If the purpose of John’s Gospel is to proclaim the divinity of Jesus, Why does John skip the Transfiguration in his gospel, especially when he was there?
STEVE RAY HERE: The earliest writers of the church said that John read the other three Gospels and improved of them and he wrote a spiritual gospel which shared and explain things the earlier three did not. The Transfiguration did not specifically declare the divinity of Christ but presented him as the new Moses, on a new mountain, carrying on the mission that Moses and Elijah had started.
