Great time with Amer Shehadeh and his wife Omima

by Steve Ray on February 13, 2021

Most all of you know Amer Shehadeh, my partner, guide and good friend who lives in Nazareth in Israel. Our last trip together was February 2020 before the virus hysteria. We were one of the very last groups to leave Israel before they closed the airport. He was in Houston Texas today where I was giving talks at a conference. It was delightful to have breakfast with him and his wife and catch up on so many things. We have done over 80 pilgrimage groups together and he’s a great friend. We can’t wait to get back to Israel doing what we love to do and it looks like our next trip will be in September.

Awww..glad you were able to get together. Our experience in the Holy Land with you, Janet and Amer was indelible and a highlight in our lives. The knowledge you guys have about the places Our Lord walked and to be able to physically experience those places has forever impacted our celebration of the Mass, as well as when we pray and contemplate the Rosary. Praying for you and all your pilgrims (hopefully we’ll join again soon!) get to return safely in the not-to-distant future. God Bless! Dave & Deborah

If you see Amer again, please tell him that I look forward to more Holy Land trips. Love our time together.

So great to see you all together again! Brings a smile to remember that wonderful dinner at Amer's beautiful home in Feb. I second Tom's sentiment.

STEVE RAY HERE: Bill, yes, it was nice to catch up with my friends. That was a great dinner at their house, and that was our last trip before we got grounded by the Chinese Virus.
