A friend named Poor Knight for the Lord put up a blog recently refuting a list of lies about the Catholic Faith (another refutation is here). I have copied it here for your edification. I put up a similar article a week ago and throught this would be a good supplement.
POOR KNIGHT WRITES: There are a variety of articles out with titles like “Rome vs. the Bible” which suggests that the Bible disproves the Catholic Church.
But, what would the people who swallow this article you do if they discovered the majority of the bad things you were taught about Catholicism were incorrect and meant to deceive them? What would they think if they found out the Catholic Church really is the truth and has been teaching correctly for 2,000 years?

Thank you so much for this site and your maintenance of it. My wife and I listened to your CD last night entitled: “Finding The Fullness of Faith”. Outstanding. As a Catholic, I LOVE converts! Scott Hahn, you, and other converts I’ve heard always point out to us “cradle Catholics” our lack of appreciation for the gift we were given, and chide us apprropriately for not defendng the faith like we should. Having grown up in “The Bible Belt” in the 50’s I took a lot of flack for being a Catholic. Hearing my Faith referred to as the “Whore of Babylon” and being told that we harbored the “Anti-Christ” made it difficult to have meaningful dialog about our faith. “There are none so blind as those who will not see.” You and people like Hahn who have stumbled onto the light by letting your love for the truth and the guidance of the Holy Spirit are an inspiration for all of us cradle Catholics. God bless you and yours.
I am fortunate enough to be invited by my son and his wife to visit Rome during the Easter season. I think that since I am there, I should make contact with a Catholic tour and see other parts of Italy as well. Are you leading such a tour at that time?
I have watched you several times on EWTN and have read Crossing the Tiber as well as some other writings, therefore I know any tour with which you are involved will be orthodox which is a must for me.
Thank you for all your hard work in spreading the Word.
Yours truly, Mary Figler
Belligerent Protestants of the Bible Alone tradition can often be stopped short by a gentle reminder that the Bible comes to them via the Catholic Church.
Anyone who holds up the Bible as an authority has implicitly acknowledged the Church’s authority–for the Bible came from the Church, not the other way around.
