Busy Day from Athens to Thessaloniki

by Steve Ray on October 26, 2018

We disembark the ship at 7:00 AM gathered our luggage and boarded the bus for downtown Athens. Everyone had 3 to 4 hours of free time to enjoy the restaurants and shops and ambience of this ancient city. We boarded our plane and headed on the short flight to Thessaloniki after which we boarded our bus and did a tour of this biblical area in northern Greece.  We had Mass at the Thessaloniki Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. You can hear/see Fr. Cole‘s homily here. After a good dinner at the hotel will be nestled in for the night ready to visit Philippi tomorrow morning. Enjoy!

Hi,Steve, since you are in Greece,I would like to know why aren’t Catholics seriously trying to evangelize and reconvert the orthodox to the true faith, even the late pope St John Paul II seems to have compromised on the questions of the orthodox schism, clearly they are ethnic balkanised churches with the Serbs hating our Catholic brothers in Croatia, the macedonians hating the Greeks and the Ukrainians and Georgians hating the Russians, further even if their sacraments are valid they do not have the fullnes of the faith since they are not under the authority of the Bishop of Rome, further they are against the council of Florence which most of their predecessors accepted and today they literally try to make life hell for eastern rite Catholics in ukraine, belarus and romania,so shouldn’t we actually try to convert these schismatics to the true faith of our lord Jesus Christ.
