Israel Day 3: Beatitudes, Caesarea Philippi, Golan Heights, Tabgha, Primacy & Magdelena

by Steve Ray on September 14, 2018

We started our day at the Mount of Beatitudes and had Mass at the same place Jesus gave his sermon. You can watch Fr. Gavin Badway’s homily here. Then up to Banias which in the Bible is called Caesarea Philippi where Steve gave his talk “Peter: the Rock the Keys in the Chair.“

We drove through the Golan Heights in Druze territory and had lunch at a family owned Druze restaurant before looking out over the border into Syria and discussing the political situation in the Middle East.

Then back down to the Sea of Gallilee to visit the Primacy of Peter and the place of the Multiplication of Loaves and Fish. Some free time was followed by dinner at one of the finest restaurants in Israel called Magdalena.
