Encouraging Word from a New Convert

by Steve Ray on October 26, 2014

Mr Ray.

I know you are a very busy man, so I will try to keep this brief. My name is Joshua Shearer. I’ve been a baptist all my life, but in this last year I have started to discern the Catholic faith. I am fully convinced that Catholicism holds the truth and am planning on joining the Church very very soon. Praise be to God for pulling me out of that place of ignorance by showing me the light!

I just wanted to give you a word of encouragement by saying that I love what you are doing. Stay in the light, and may God watch over you in all that you do.

I pray that someday all Christians here on earth will be united under one roof. I have already started my journey to this end by sharing with anyone who will listen to the truth that has been revealed to me. Perhaps we will see a revival in our lifetime. After all, if fundamentalist baptists like you and me can be reached, maybe this is a dawn of a new beginning, the end of a 500 year long struggle.

Dear Mr. Ray,
What was it that this person realized? What was his “truth”?
Thank you,
