My Wife’s Dad just Died

by Steve Ray on April 7, 2014

Janet's dad seated to the right - in better times.

My wife Janet’s father died this morning after a heart attack last week. He was in the arms of his wife and four daughters who were praying the Our Father.

He was a great dad for those girls. I thanked him many times for raising such a wonderful daughter and for allowing me to marry her.

Please pray for him and the family. His name was Gilbert Sklenar of Czeck origins. Thanks.

My heart goes out to you, Ray, your wife, Janet, and all the family. May all come to know the peace of our loving God as He leads you through this time of grief. May Gilbert rest in the company of all in Heaven.

I am sorry. I hope you find comfort, as I am sure you will, with the Lord, as I know you keep in touch with Him. You have given me a lot of enjoyment with your blog. I don’t know, I think that when I myself die and see Jesus, I will faint because I’m such a fan. But, perhaps those type of things don’t happen when you go to heaven. :)

Janet, I just saw this and am so sorry. What a great person he must have been to father a person like you. God bless you and the family.

My wife’s father was just diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. She is so strong, much stronger than I am, and I am worried about her as this progresses. We are still in shock, so the road only gets more real and raw from here. I wil be there for her every mile. Bless you all.
