Abortion and Breast Cancer

by Steve Ray on June 2, 2011

“While American media outlets remain silent on the issue, London’s Daily Mail has called attention to a new medical study showing the connection between abortion and breast cancer.

“The latest study, published in Cancer Epidemiology, found that abortion could triple a woman’s risk of breast cancer. Nursing babies lowers the risk, the study found. This was the 4th scientific study to be released this year showing evidence of a causal tie between abortion and breast cancer. The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists has now recognized the possibility of a connection. But American journalists ignore the issue. Pro-life blogger Jill Stanek notes: “I’ve said before the British press is much more honest about abortion than the American press.”

I always knew that nursing babies had to lower a woman’s risk of breast cancer. I nursed eight babies and was constantly nursing or pregnant for twenty three years. I’ve never had an abortion, so I hope my chances for breast cancer are very low. The only thing I did wrong is I did use the pill for two years before my first pregnancy. Then I learned about NFP. Hey, it really did work. I wanted every one of those eight sons. I also learned that children are a blessing from the Lord. This latest study certainly backs that up in more ways than one.

I am a prolifer and I want to establish that right from the beginning so I can be forgiven for criticizing the cited study. If one has an abortion their chances of breast cancer goes up? What about people that have never been pregnant, like myself, is the result the same? I am not sure how the abortion is specific in this case. I have never been blessed with children and I have gone through some very harsh tests.

@ Donna: Abortion is linked to breast cancer not only because mothers who had abortion never breastfeed, but it is because the hormones and breast cells that were growing and changing in the mothers’ bodies are abruptly and unnaturally stopped. This is the concern! And I believe this is the main cause of abortion – breast cancer link: the unnatural interruptions. People don’t talk about concern of mothers who had miscarriage linked to breast cancer – it is because miscarriage is a natural process, very different than abortions.
I hope this brings comfort.

Hello Sisters, all your thoughts are right. We wiill that people will know this new discovery. Specially those who were deceived by their political leaders or the government. And please help us here in the Philippines to pray, that the RH Bill (Reproductive Bill) will not become a law. Many other bills came out like Same sex marriage and divorce, we’re the one of the few countries who doesn’t have these kind of laws. Pray for us. Pray for us!
