How Proud We Are!

by Steve Ray on May 27, 2008

Obi-Wan.jpgOne of our long-time board members has just been ordained to the priesthood!

Geoff Horton (aka. Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi) is now Fr. Horton. Several board members were in attendance at his ordination on Saturday and at his first Mass on Sunday. One of our Defenders of the Catholic Faith (DCF) Board member youth was an altarboy! You can go here to see pictures and descriptions. There are many, many pictures.

Signum Crusis (Siggy) who has been my Discussion Forum Administrator for many years said; "I can't put into words how proud I am." Of course Siggy feels like a proud mom! I am proud of both Fr. Obi-Wan (opps, I mean Fr. Horton) and Siggy too!

I, Steve Ray, proudly congratulate Fr. Horton — and I am extremely proud that he has been such a stalwart, orthodox and faithful member of this Board for so many years. Bravo!

If you go here you can see the announcement and the hundreds of messages. Go to page 5 and beyond to begin seeing lots of pictures. Please send him your congratulations! Our Message Board is at http://forums.catholic-convert.com.

by Steve Ray on May 27, 2008

We need to reach out and support our Hispanic Catholic brethren who are under attack from every side. According to Christianity Today Hispanics make up 29% of Catholics in the U.S.

3.5 million join Brazilian homosexual march

by Steve Ray on May 27, 2008

Sao Paulo, May. 26, 2008 (CWNews.com) – More than 3.5 million people participated in the 12th Gay Pride parade in Sao Paulo, Brazil, according to police estimates.

Of those taking part in the march down the city's Avenida Paulista, about 300,000 were believed to be foreigners who travelled to Brazil for the festival. Tourism minister Marta Suplicy, the former mayor of Sao Paulo, said that the visiting homosexual activists enriched Brazil's economy, spending about $115 million during their stay. "This is the diversity that this country wants," the former mayor said.

The massive gay-pride demonstration dwarfed the crowd that had attended last year's meeting in Sao Paulo with Pope Benedict XVI (bio – news); about 1 million people were at that event.

Can you imagine something like this even 20 years ago? My grandkids will raise their kids in a very different and scary world. I just did the study on Genesis 18 where the Lord came down to visit Abraham and then to travel to Sodom to see if it was really as bad as the reports that had reached him. A few days later Sodom and Gomorrah were a smoking bed of cinder and ashes. May the Lord have mercy; I'd be afraid to pray for justice.
