Turkish government will allow Muslims to convert Ankara, Apr. 15, 2008 (CWNews.com) – Turkey’s Office of Religious Affairs has announced that Muslims may forsake Islam for another religion. The decision sets up a conflict between Turkey's government, which asserts a strong secular identity, and the Islamic religion, which teaches that apostasy is punishable by death. The Turkish government has been trying to achieve a delicate balance between the demands for greater religious freedom– especially in light of the country's application for membership in the European Union– and the rising sympathy for militant Islam among the country's people.

Anything for that Euro!
Well, the government may “allow” it, but I just get the distinct feeling that they will not do much of anything to discourage the radicals in their country from killing anyone and everyone who dares to do such a thing. This has the smell of a bogus “freedom” to me
Now if they would just admit to the numerous atrocities they have committed in the decades past all the way to present day, against Christians and Christian nations, and Kurds, and other minorities, I might actually believe them.
