Same-Sex “Marriage” and Children: New Study Points Outs Problems

By Father John Flynn, LC

ROME, February 22, 2015 (Zenit.org) – At a time when many states in America have legalized same-sex marriage a new study has provided evidence that the best results for children is that if they are raised in a heterosexual marriage.

A paper published by Donald Paul Simmons, a professor of sociology at the Catholic University of America, looked at a sample of children of over two hundred thousand, including 512 with same-sex parents.

The article, “”Emotional Problems among Children with Same-Sex Parents: Difference by Definition,” was published in the February 2015 edition of the British Journal of Education, Society, and Behavioural Science.

The summary of the findings concluded that emotional problems were over twice as prevalent for children with same-sex parents than for children with opposite-sex parents.

“Joint biological parents are associated with the lowest rate of child emotional problems by a factor of 4 relative to same-sex parents,” the study concluded.

“Intact opposite-sex marriage ensures children of the persistent presence of their joint biological parents; same-sex marriage ensures the opposite,” the article observed.

Yup. I knew it was coming. It was a mathematical certainty. Remove the traditional definition of “marriage” and all relationships and arrangements will be considered equal — and legally valid.

If marriage is not defined and and protected in a society as a man and a woman in an exclusive and matrimonial relationship  with the view to procreating children and being a family — then all relationships can be called a family and any combination of persons (or…) can be called a “marriage.”

So, welcome to “Throuples”. Now that America has cast aside real marriage, three people in love are now called a “family” and those in this new “family” are called a “throuple.”  If you think I am making this up just Google the word “throuple.” Or, read this representative article which presents “throuples” not as the wave of the future, but the reality now. Here is an article from a Christian perspective warning us of this new perversion.

Modern, politically correct people ask, “Who has the right to tell me who I love? Does the government really think it can tell me how many people I can be married to or who I sleep with?”

We currently have laws that forbid polygamy, but how long do you think they will last now that the word “marriage” has become a fluid, changing and all-encompassing? Polygamy laws will be deemed repressive and discriminatory, violating the civil rights of people in love. Polygamy (bad context) will be changed to something like “polymarriage” or “polyamory” (good sounding).

What’s next?

Fifty years ago no one would have dreamed “marriage” could ever be defined as anything other than one man and one woman. What will we be accepting in another fifty years? Incest – a family affair? Pedophilia? Who is to deny a man the love of his intended fixation? There is already a Man-Boy Love Association.

Mabe bestiality? Do you know there are already over 100,000 who practice bestiality in Germany alone? Bestiality brothels are taking Germany by storm. Some countries are banning bestiality, not because it is wrong but because it is violating the rights of animals. But in the long run there will be push for legal relationships, even marriages with non-human lovers? What are the limits if “everything is OK for consenting…”

Enough of that.

Our world is going crazy. Get rid of God and Christian morality and everything is OK. As Dostoevsky has one of his character say in Brothers Karamazov, “If God does not exist, everything is permitted.”

If we as Christians do what we must — stand for sanity, truth, natural law and morality — we will be called bigots and haters. We are already deemed as such for speaking out against abortion, homosexuality and “gay marriage.” We will pay the price for our faithfulness to God, the Scriptures and the infallible teaching of the Church.

Hold on to your hats my friends. We in America — we are in for an interesting ride.

Excuse me, I have to go to church now. I am going to pray for my grandchildren.
