You forgot Citizens United, 2010. Now corporations are people too
Keith, perhaps you should read Steve’s post again; you don’t seem to have understood what it was about.
That’s funny, just today I was thinking about the early 20th century “Persons” case in which the Supreme Court of Canada determined that women were persons for purposes of being eligible to sit in the Senate, and comparing it with the 1988 Morgentaler case, in which the unborn were completely stripped of all rights. Abortion is still legal right up until birth in Canada, to our lasting shame. It’s pure legal fiction. Were women not persons before the SCC said they were? Nobody would say that. So what were unborn babies before 1988? The logic doesn’t follow. Glad to see similar thoughts on here. Keep it up Catholic church, more Protestants need to get involved in this battle!
